Humans need entertainment whether they live on Earth or Mars no matter. If you prefer to live on Mars, have you ever thought what would you do? You will probably think of being remembered, right? The psychology works the same for Earth beings; they also want to be recognized for unmatched things and constructions.

It can be one reason they’ve made things and buildings now known as Wonders of the World. And modern humans consider modern wonders of the world the same way their ancestors did. Today, I will present 7 Wonders of the World in front of you, both modern and ancient.

These wonders can be your perfect holiday places and probably your honeymoon locations. So, Let’s fasten your seatbelts!

Ancient wonders of the world are the outstanding and remarkable constructions of human beings that I’m going to describe below.

1. Pyramids of Giza

Firstly, the Pyramids of Giza are situated on the bank of the river Neil, which was the most incredible structure included in the 7 wonders of the world. The structures built as tombs of pharaohs, yet the Great Pyramid of Giza has the Khufu pharaoh in it.

2. Hanging Gardens of Babylon

In ancient times, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon was considered one of the wonders of the world. People think that the architecture was situated near the royal building of Babylon. According to Britannica, many theories are famous about the construction of this wonder and vary for its existence.

3. Zeus Statue at Olympia

The Statue of Zeus is present in the Olympia Theatre in Greece. It was built by the Greek sculptor Phidias, who also made the Athena statue. This is a gold and ivory plated statue, which is 12 metres high from the ground. Further, it is famous because Zeus is the God of Gods in Greek Mythology.

4. Artemis Temple at Ephesus

The Artemision, now known as Artemis Temple at Ephesus, was a Greek temple now situated in Turkey. It’s one of the world’s remarkable wonders, attracting millions of tourists, but now it is not in its original state. Moreover, It has another name in common, which is the Temple of Diana.

5. Mausoleum at Halicarnassus

The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus is a Tomb actually, which was built for Halicarnassus in 351 BC. It is 1 km away from Selcuk city, which means you have to ride only 5 minutes from Selcuk to be there. However, it is not in its original state, but you can see its existence.

6. Colossus of Rhodes

The Colossus of Rhodes is the most remarkable wonder of the world, but it is not in existence but only evidence. Moreover, the statue of Helios, the Greek Sun God, was erected in Rhodes City. Do you know? It was built to celebrate the victory against Demetrius I of Macedon.

7. Lighthouse of Alexandria

Lastly, the Lighthouse of Alexandria, AKA Pharos of Alexandria, was built in the age of Ptolemy II Philadelphus, Egyptian King. The reason why it was built the same as now is that it was used to navigate ships to the harbour of Alexandria. Unfortunately, it no longer exists on the Earth because it is now underwater.

1. Taj Mahal

Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan commissioned the Taj Mahal in 1631, and the construction was completed between 1632 and 1648 AD. This construction is the most special and outstanding specimen of Muslim arts and construction in Agra, India. Shah Jahan built it as the tomb of his favorite wife, Taj.

According to Arts and Culture, The Taj Mahal is the symbol of unmatched love, and thousands of lovers go to experience the pure history of love each year on the World Trip. Maharaja Shah Jahan constructed the Mahal for her favorite wife and love of life Taj. Shah Jahan almost bankrupted his state while building the Taj Mahal.

The Great Wall of China was built to protect the borders of United China from Mongols and other unasked visitors. As Britannica stated, it is 21,196 km long, and each stone brick is attached to each other with rice flour.

Machu Picchu, aka Lost City of the Incas, is located on Peru mountain ridge 2,430 metres above the sea. The destination was built as a royal retreat for the Inca emperor Pachacuti. Moreover, there are some theories about its existence, such as a prison, a trade hub, a religious sanctuary, and more.

I had better tell you that the Roman Colosseum is Italy’s most attractive tourist attraction. Further, it was built in 72 AD, which is under the Flavian emperors. The destination was built by thousands of Judeo slaves who were under the rule of Rome.

5. Chichen Itza

The Chichen Itza was a Columbian city built by the Maya people back in the terminal time period. It has a significant presence in the literature as a mythical place. However, it is not a romantic place for married couples to spend holidays, but for historical persons.

At the sixth number, Petra is another one of the seven famous modern wonders of the world. It is situated between the Dead Sea and the Red Sea, which is considered the incense of Arabia in Jordan. Nabataeans built the place in the 3rd century BC, which seems to be amazing.

Lastly, Rio City is more famous for the Art Deco statue, Christ the Redeemer Statue, which is 30 metres tall. The statue represents the divinity of Jesus Christ, Jesus’s protection for people, and dedicating the city to the Lord.

Why Visit the Wonders of the World?

The day I came to know about the world’s wonders, I wished to be there from that day. The ancient world’s wonders were significant assets to human history, but they walked a mile with humans. However, they are not in existence despite the Pyramids of Giza.

As mentioned, people need entertainment, and there are modern wonders of the world that are a great source of enjoyment. Moreover, these wonders also come a long way and become symbols for unique emotional expressions and knowledge.
