20 Simple Ways to Make Money Online: Essential Guide to Becoming Rich

In my first online work try, I made $20, as it was not glamorous; I had signed up to write a short blog post for a startup on Upwork. When the payment hit my account, though, it felt like magic. I hadn’t clocked in at an office, I hadn’t commuted through traffic, and yet, I got paid while sitting in my pajamas at home.

The little win opened my eyes and forced me to think that the internet is not just for Netflix or other kinda entertainment, rather it is also a gateway of opportunities for many. This further increased my curiosity and let me thrive in this more and more.

Just like me, most of us dream of living a luxurious lifestyle that does not involve going to the office and allows us to take a vacation to the Bahamas now and then and enjoy a private yacht tour.

However, the grass is always greener on the other side. While the internet has a lot of potential with over 5.56 billion people, opportunities are endless, but not everyone succeeds.

The key? Choosing the best way to make money online for your skills. In this article, I am going to share 20 simple ways to become rich online.

20 Simple Ways to Make Money Online

1. Blogging (Turning Your Words Into a Business)

Blogging isn’t dead; it has just evolved after the implementation of Artificial Intelligence everywhere. It is still among the best ways to make money online for beginners.

Today, starting a blog is a full-fledged business model where you can earn through ads, affiliate marketing, sponsored posts, digital products, and even your own services.

How to start blogging?

  • Pick a niche you enjoy (fitness, personal finance, travel, food, tech, parenting, etc.).
  • Create helpful, well-structured articles that answer people’s questions or solve their problems.
  • Drive traffic from Google (SEO), Pinterest, or social media platforms.
  • Monetize that traffic in multiple ways.

Ways to Earn From a Blog

  • Ads: Join ad networks like Google AdSense (beginner-friendly) or Mediavine (for bigger sites) to earn per view/click.
  • Affiliate Links: Recommend products and earn commissions for sales.

Freelancing is like the gateway drug into online money-making, you can start small, grow your skills, and scale as big as you want. Platforms like Upwork, Fiverr, and Freelancer.com connect you with clients from all over the world who need everything from graphic design to data entry.

3. Start Dropshipping

An eCommerce store is an online store where you sell products. Thanks to the option to be a middleman, you do not have to worry about making your own products.

You may acquire products from the wholesaler and sell them at your store, just like a retail store. Shopify stores let you make money online from home without inventory.

Instead, you set up an online store, list products from a supplier, and only pay for them when a customer places an order. The supplier then ships the product directly to the customer.

How to start dropshipping?

  1. Choose a niche – Select a profitable and specific market to target.
  2. Find reliable suppliers – Use platforms like AliExpress, Spocket, or Oberlo.
  3. Set up an online store – Build a Shopify, WooCommerce, or Wix store.
  4. Import products & set prices – Add products with good margins and optimize descriptions.
  5. Market your store – Use social media, SEO, and ads to drive traffic.

  1. Good article.
I think before anything else, you need to review your mindset.
People who make money aren’t afraid of what ifs. They know there are risks and they assume these risks. They aren’t afraid of challenges either.

Think big or go home. Build a plan. Don’t be a wanderer and just expect money to fall from the skies.

It’s true that nowadays you can make money out of anything. See the story of “pet rocks” in the US. But from making money to getting rich there’s a long way. Be efficient, consistent, passionate, dedicated and don’t give up, no matter how hard it is.

That’s my online advice. I’m still far off from being rich, but I’ve always done what I loved and worked for myself, which allowed me to become rich in other ways (family time, friends, holidays off seasons, time with myself to enjoy my hobbies, good books and movies, art, social life, good music etc).
And knowing that if tomorrow the Internet disappears, I can still find ways to support myself. 🙂
